We’re excited to welcome you to our first ever online entry system for the 2026 Quilt Show: Stitched in the Stars! Submitting your quilt entry online makes the process quick and easy — but before you get started, please take a few minutes to review the information below so your entry goes smoothly.

You’ll need the following details ready to complete your form:

  • Details about your quilt - title, dimensions (width and length), and quilting method (hand, stationary machine, or movable machine).

  • Names of the quilt top maker and quilter.

  • Category number (see category list below before starting).

  • A brief description of your design, pattern, or inspiration.

  • A clear color photo of your quilt. 

  • Entry fee payment method, if applicable.
    -Members get the first (3) quilts at no cost, then (2) additional at $10 each.
    -Non-members and can submit up to (3) entries for $20 each.

Please read the full entry guidelines  below before submitting — this ensures your quilt is placed in the correct category and meets show requirements.

The
QGET Quilt Show Committee makes the final decision on quilt category placement, including moving a quilt to a more applicable category or subdividing a category. The QGET Quilt Show Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry. All entry forms must be received no later than Thursday, March 12, 2025. QGET is not responsible for lost or misdirected mail.

Mixed Techniques is defined as a quilt containing a significant amount of two or more techniques used to develop the design of the top.

Stationary Machine is defined as a machine that sits on a table, and the fabric is moved to accomplish the quilting.

A Movable
Machine is defined as a machine that is moved to accomplish the quilting.

Non-Judged
quilts will be displayed based on available space after judged quilts are placed. 


CATEGORIES:

Large Quilts: (width plus length equals 120 inches or greater; width cannot exceed 104”) 

200 Pieced, Appliquéd & Mixed Technique; Hand Quilted

300 Pieced, Quilted with a Stationary Machine

400 Appliquéd & Mixed Technique, Quilted with a Stationary Machine

500 Pieced, Quilted with a Movable Machine; this category may be subdivided by show personnel

600 Appliquéd &; Mixed Technique, Quilted with a Movable Machine


Quilts, No Size Limitations, Quilted by any Method

700 Art Quilt:  An Art Quilt is an original design that does not use commercial patterns or previous works.  The design may include but is not limited to a naturescape, a pictorial, an exploration of a concept, experience, or shape, an experiment in the creative process, an original evolution of a traditional design, and/or an experimental use of non-traditional media. False Backs are acceptable on an art quilt. Please submit an artist statement 25 words or less along with the entry. 

800 Modern:  Characteristics of modern quilts may include, but are not limited to, the use of bold colors and prints, high contrast, graphic areas of solid color, improvisational piecing, (design) minimalism, expansive negative space, and/or non-traditional layouts.

900 Other Techniques:  Examples of Other include but are not limited to whole cloth, yo-yo, crazy quilt, digital imagery, and surface design techniques such as embroidery (by hand or machine), thread painting, surface painting, etc. 

1000 Non-judged, exhibit only

1100 Youth: A quilt made using any technique, design, style or method of quilting by a quilter that is under the age of 18. 


Small Quilts: (width plus length equals 119 inches or less)

1200 Pieced, Appliquéd & Mixed Techniques, Hand Quilted

1300 Pieced, Machine Quilted, Stationary or Movable 

1400 Appliquéd & Mixed Technique, Machine Quilted, Stationary or Movable

1500 Miniatures:  Every element is appropriately reduced in scale; overall quilt size is no larger than 24” x 24”. Hand or Machine Quilted     


QUILT PREPARATION:  

  • All quilt entries must contain either hand or machine quilting or a combination of these techniques, except for crazy quilts, yo-yo quilts, and cathedral window quilts. Quilting is defined as a stitch that passes through the top, batting, and backing. False backs are permitted ONLY on art quilts. 
  • All quilts must have a sleeve. Instructions for making a sleeve can be found here.  If quilt is greater than 90 inches in length, the sleeve top must be placed 90 inches from the bottom edge of the quilt. 
  • A label must be attached on the lower back side of the quilt, showing the entrant’s name, title of the quilt, and phone number.
  • Quilts previously shown in the Tyler Quilt Show will not be accepted. 
  • Quilt readiness: All entries must be clean, in good condition, and odor-free.

QUILT SHOW DEADLINES AND INFORMATION - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY 

  • Each quilt entered requires a separate form and one (1) clear color photo of the entry not to exceed 20 MB in file size. 
  • Quilt Inspiration / Story - Provide a brief description of the inspiration or story behind your quilt. This statement will appear on your quilt’s show label as written.
  • Art Quilts (Category 700) include a separate artist statement of 25 words or less, either attached to your form or written on the back of your paper entry. This will be used by the judge and will not appear on the quilt show label. 
  • Due to space limitations, only the first 200 entries received will be accepted. Quilts shall be no wider than 104 inches. 
  • QGET Quilt Show Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry.
  • Guild members are limited to three (3) entries, with the fee waived.  Members may enter two (2) additional quilts with an entry fee of $10 each.
  •  Non-Guild members must pay $20 per entry and are limited to three (3) entries. Youth (Category 1100) must pay $10 per entry and are limited to two (2) entries. Payment must accompany the entry form. Please make a check or money order payable to QGET.
  • All entry forms must be received no later than Thursday, March 12, 2026. 
  • Quilts must be physically delivered to W.T. Brookshire Conference Center, 2000 W. Front Street, Tyler, TX, 75703 on  Wednesday, April 22, 2026, between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM.  
  • Shipped entries (not your entry form) are to be shipped to arrive between Monday, April 13, 2026, and Friday, April 17, 2026. We cannot be held responsible for delivery delays. Entries should be shipped in a sturdy box, which will be used to return the quilt. A prepaid mailing label or a check made out to QGET for the exact amount needed for return shipping must be included. Contact our show chairman at quiltshow@qgetx.org for the shipping address. If you want confirmation your quilt was received, please request a delivery confirmation from the shipper. Entries being returned will be shipped to the entrant by April 30, 2026.
  • QGET Members will be on duty during judging and show hours, the premises will be locked during non-show hours, and the building will be secured. Every effort will be made to ensure the safety of your work while in QGET care, but QGET, its officers, agents, or volunteers will assume no responsibility for loss or damage to entries. You are urged to insure your quilt. 
  • On delivery of the quilt, each entrant will receive a return receipt for each quilt entered. This return receipt MUST be presented to claim your quilt. No entry will be released without a return receipt. All entries must remain on display for the entire show. No entry will be released before 6 PM on Saturday, April 25, 2026, and picked up no later than 6:30PM April 25, 2026.
  • Entrants will receive written critique sheets on all judged entries

Ribbons will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place entries and Honorable Mention in each category at the discretion of the judges.

Best Adaptation of the Theme Ribbon – The show judge will award this ribbon to the quilt with the most effective adaptation of the show theme, “Stitched In The Stars.”
