Marilyn Hardy - Disciplining Your Scraps
Marilyn will touch on the importance of scrap quilts in America. In this time of tight budgets and inflation, a scrap quilt can be made at little or no expense. And there is no such thing as “using up your scraps” as they seem to multiply in their drawers, cabinets, and bins.
Scrap quilts can be intensely scrappy, moderately scrappy, and mildly scrappy. Marilyn will have examples (from her own work and borrowed work) of those three intensities of scrap quilts, and she will point out and discuss ways of controlling the scrap palette. Scraps must have some discipline! From the trunk show you will gain some strategies for controlling scraps to gain a cohesive design impact.
