Ellen Baranowski
Sashiko- Meditation in Thread
Ellen is a fiber artist whose work has been exhibited at various quilt and art shows.
Her practice centers on Sashiko and Hitomezashi, traditional Japanese stitching techniques which she enhances through botanical printing, indigo Shibori, and natural dye work. Coming from a family of stitchers, weavers, and quilters, Ellen’s relationship with embroidery has been lifelong. Ellen has her BA in Early Childhood Education and has spent her life teaching.
